I’ve decided to start this blog as a way to document my life living with my crossdressing husband.  Perhaps I should have started this years ago, back when I first found out, but at the time I was a very busy individual and Melanie’s crossdressing didn’t seem to warrent such behavior.

We’re trying to get pregnant, so those posts are going to certainly be interesting, but beyond that, I mostly hope to build a little community and develop a good resource for those who’ve discovered that a loved one is a crossdresser or transgendered.  It’s nothing to be scared of.  It’s nothing to be angry over.  It IS a challenge but not in the way you’re thinking.  It’s a PERSONAL challenge.  It’s not a challenge for them… it’s a challenge for YOU.  They can’t help what they are or what they love anymore than they can help the color of their skin and I’m putting this out there RIGHT NOW: There’s no CURE.

If you’re here hoping to find hints on how to “fix” your lover, leave now.  I’m not going to offer any.  They don’t need fixing, your relationship does, especially if your first instinct was to “make them stop”.  First of all, you can’t MAKE anyone do anything.  That’s YOU controlling THEM and that is one of the signs of an abusive relationship.  Do you want to be emotionally abusive to someone you love?  Is your comfort more important to you than figuring out the best way to sort your relationship out?

If you answered “yes” maybe you should consider leaving now because, believe me, they would be better off WITHOUT you.  It might hurt them, sure, but there are millions of women out there who want a man who is comfortable enough with his masculinity to explore the edges of himself in that way, who wants to experiment, who is nurturing and loving and kind.  If all you want is a “macho man” then you need to express that right away.

But if you love the person you’re with, if you care about THEM and not what they wear, then stick around for awhile.  You and me?  We’re going to have a loooong talk.
